THEME: Innovating for a Sustainable World

We are looking forward to a  week of exciting immersive talks, learning sessions and design activities carefully curated to give current higher education students and recent graduates invaluable experience and an insight into the world of engineering and technology for the built environment.

The programme has been designed to prepare current students and recent graduates for an exciting career in 'Innovating for a sustainable world' and will offer tangible learning. The sessions will cover infrastructure, sustainable architecture, mechanical, electrical and water engineering as well as sessions on the transition to net-zero, product design for impact and entrepreneurship.

In the format of LIVE talks, participants will hear from exceptional Engineers, Architects, Technologists, Innovators, Entrepreneurs and Changemakers from world leading organisations.

The student & graduate participants will also be required to engage in break out sessions and participate in feedback sessions. Upon the submission of a short report on the week, a certificate of participation will be issued.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants are current university students, in higher education or recent graduates from an Engineering, Technology or Architecture related programme.
• Applications are open to all parts of the world but applicants need to be proficient in English language- to get the most out of the work experience week.
• Applicants have to commit to the entire week as attendance is important.
• Applicants have to be 18 and over. 
• Applicants have to be passionate about shaping a better world.
• Applications are only open to participants who have not been on a previous BIG Engineering Work Experience Week.
